CAROLINA LA O!
Carolina Ovalle, known as Carolina la O, is a Colombian Salsa and Tropical music singer. Carolina started her career at age 16 when she joined the salsa and cumbia band Alquimia with which she travelled all over the world for about five years, gaining experience while demonstrating her tremendous vocal capacity. In 1998, when the young artist performed at the Copacabana in NYC along with the queen of salsa Celia Cruz, she realized that it was about time to venture in a solo career, releasing her first album, El Son de Ahora, in 2000.
From 2001 to 2006, she recorded three more albums, combining salsa, cumbia and baladas. It was in 2009 when Carolina la O went salsa full-force releasing the album ‘Encuentro con los Gemelos’ with a set of specially arranged salsa classics, here performed with the unique Carolina la O style.
